MDG Add-in Integration for:
Sparx Enterprise Architect
Welcome to the MDG Integration for Microsoft Office. Designed to integrate with the Microsoft Office and Visio Suites. It allows you to upgrade your documents and spreadsheets into Enterprise Architect, providing a rich modeling experience utilizing UML 2.5, SysML, BPMN and many other technologies.
Word & Excel
The MDG Integration for Microsoft Office allows teams to seamlessly leverage the information authored in Word & Excel documents within Enterprise Architect as model elements. Import requirements, use cases and other project information into an Enterprise Architect repository. Synchronize subsequent changes in Word and Excel documents.
Office Integration allows practitioners to publish the model contents to PowerPoint presentations. Utilize your model directly within a PowerPoint presentation and ensure that your presentation is always up-to-date with the latest changes to your model.
Office Integration can also import Visio diagrams into your Enterprise Architect model, helping to support data re-use, traceability, project management, software engineering, simulation, validation and much more.
- Enjoy seamless integration between Microsoft Office and Enterprise Architect.
- Import Requirements, Use Cases and much more from Word and Excel documents.
- Migrate existing Requirements and Use Cases into Enterprise Architect as Modelling Elements.
- Easily share and exchange model information using traditional office tools.
- Synchronize Office documents to reflect model changes.
- Leverage the benefits of traceability and impact analysis.
- Easily import Visio Diagrams into Enterprise Architect.
- Migrate from Visio to Enterprise Architect to better utilize existing data across the enterprise.
PowerPoint integration allows users to access an Enterprise Architect repository within a PowerPoint presentation and insert references to the underlying model. Users can insert model element names as links, diagram images and also insert package contents as tables to the slides.
The references can be refreshed when required to fetch the latest information from the model in the PowerPoint presentation.
Excel Import Export
The Excel Importer utility allows users to import contents from Excel workbooks into Enterprise Architect as model elements. This includes importing Elements, Connectors, Attributes and Operations.
Excel Export allows users to publish Enterprise Architect model contents including elements, connectors, tagged values, attributes and operations, as Excel Workbooks. Users also have the flexibility to generate the model contents to a pre-formatted Excel worksheet.
The Word Importer utility allows users to import Requirements, Use Cases, Processes, Classes, etc. from Word documents into Enterprise Architect as model elements. The Word Importer follows a methodological approach to let you map sections, tables and other details such as delimited name value pairs into Enterprise Architect elements and its properties, including defining custom tagged values.
The reusable profiles offers a convenient way to allow users to define the configurations once for a particular document structure (template) and reuse it for all documents that follow a similar structure.
The MDG Integration for Office also includes a Visio Importer. The Visio Importer is designed to translate Microsoft Visio diagrams (files with .vsd and .vdx extensions) into their model equivalent in Enterprise Architect. Migrating from Visio to Enterprise Architect helps you to better utilize existing data across the whole enterprise. Read more about moving from Visio to Enterprise Architect.
Please note: MDG Products do not require subscription renewals. End users can use the latest build of the MDG product providing their EA build is up to date.
